The Day’s Goals of a Strategist:

How did I become a happy Fitbit user? My life changed when I got my favorite device as a present. It was my first Fitbit health device.

To start with, not so long ago I started working as a search engine optimization (SEO) tool with Squarespace Circle CMS, my first client was a local grocery store Roccoroma, Goshen, NY in Orange County.
I also started my research and design of my personal portfolio. That’s how I start to research how to improve the local results of my portfolio site:

My way memorable

It was a time before the pandemic started. I search for entry-level SEO jobs in New York.

I came from Russia almost 3 years ago, right before my fortieth birthday. It’s hard to say that I dreamt about working with local businesses, to say nothing about being an SEO strategist for a local grocery store RoccoRoma Goshen NY.

But more importantly, it was hard enough to find a job as a Search Engine Optimisation specialist and work with local searches, my job not just ranking higher anchor text results, as well optimizing for near me searches.

That's how I started:

My family lives in Goshen, NY. I opened my first LinkedIn profile and started research for a platform to design my portfolio. Two times a week, I was on the Coach USA bus **THAT** stops 5 minutes away from my house. I was spending all day in NYC, doing job interviews and enjoying my FitBit Blaze device by walking from one place to another on foot.

What do people say about the Coach and FitBit Career?

That's how I started my personal, SEO strategist Fitbit challenge. During the trip, I was taking photos and videos with my then iphone6. As soon as my Fitbit app reminded me that I accomplished my 10.000 steps goal, I used it to make a memorable photo and inserted it in the blog article of my portfolio. Because of the pandemic the values of health and wellness data, as well as fitness trackers, become important, but even before I was very proud of my Fitbit results.

Right now, I know what mistakes I made at the beginning of my job search career. Three years later I see, America is not just different from Russia economically, culturally, or socially! It's the opposite, it is the land of too many choices and opportunities! My biggest mistake was:

Dream it.

I did not really research! I just typed in Google searches some phrases: “ a platform to design an SEO friendly portfolio.” After browsing through lots of Google ads, the first platform that popped up was WIX. I started my first portfolio on WIX and realized it was not really what I called an SEO-friendly system. I found out that no one on the platform has rankings high enough in search engines, especially to be the first for near me searches, as well as local digital marketing. Even now, when I work with Squarespace and Semrush. My job is not really about the platform itself and what you chose for your portfolio, Commerce Websites, or even Blog, will rank your site without specialist, by itself. And in reality, Squarespace or Wix does not matter, but more about how I solve clients’ problems. How in reality does the platform I choose improve clients' local results? Truthfully, everything in the USA. Even if you try to choose what to buy, a Fitbit device or an Apple watch will end up in the land of too many choices.
Build it.

It’s not really about what I choose. Thus, I realized there is no such thing as a choice at all, as well as other people, I always tried to find something “right” or “good enough” for everything. My life and choice are not about “what I choose “ it’s more important HOW I choose. Everything in this world, I guess, is helpful and perfect for the right goal.
Grow it.

So --- if I come back to the topic about FitBit, localized search results, or a job search. I did not choose my device, I got it as a birthday present. The same about the job - now I work as an online store designer with Roccoroma Markert, Inc., the same place where my family has been buying groceries for all three years I have been in the country.
