It’s New York! An Impenetrable Jungle of Too Many Choices.
My blog post is not about the paradox of choice, as well it’s not about good user experience, it’s just my opinion of America before the pandemic started in the United States.
Well, who is me, may you ask my readers? Just a job seeker, finished a user experience UX course. As well I have an SEO, and web design background, this story is just my first interaction with the design process and remote job search. So probably because of my background, I started searching for UX research jobs.
Job search Choice Overload:
It’s America, the land of too many choices, that's my first understanding of the United States. If you do not understand what User Experience is, I will share my thoughts with you.
There are too many choices, even if I know what I want to buy. That was the day when I started my UX research to buy simple ice cream because I already knew how to come to the Ice cream place for one item and stay about an hour or so there with the kids and the puppy. Eventually, we chose our ice cream, and I already wanted to pay with a smile, but oh no… my niece suddenly says, look, they have dogs’ Ice cream here. I could not believe my eyes, how dogs can have ice cream. But this story is not about dogs’ Ice cream, it’s only an example of too many choices.
Now Quotes of usability testing:
I could not believe my eyes, how dogs can have ice cream. But this story is not about dogs’ Ice cream, it’s only an example of too many choices. Believe me, if you can stay at the ice cream place for an hour to buy a scoop of ice cream, what time do you need to find a job in New York?
New York is an impenetrable jungle of career choice experiences!
A year of looking for a #career opportunity in the U.S. gives me enough time to understand New York, the concrete jungle of too many choices. The choices here exist in everything, there is not such a thing as in the rest of the world. This year and a half I can say was 12 months of researching, exploring, studying, and experimenting with #sketching and testing, mastering US UX design methods. Frankly speaking I already wrote about my job searching experience where I wrote about a career hide-and-seek game! Now I want to concentrate only on creative professional choices. How to choose a career position for yourself if only in the creative profesion again I see too many choices?
